A lovely cottage – perfectly positioned for visiting either end of the island. Weather was kind to us – only a few showers and 3 days completely dry! We were lucky enough to see sea eagles, a golden eagle, deer and of course plenty of buzzards and herons. Just one sighting of otters on Sunday – very elusive creatures.

Stephen & Anne, West Yorkshire (August 2017)

Had another lovely week; weather lovely between showers and did manage a swim in Loch Buie and Iona. Saw golden eagles, red deer, fallow deer, plenty of herons and hooded crows. Also lots of buzzards, an adder and one rabbit! However, no sea eagles or otters! Lovely comfortable cottage in perfect touring location.

Paul & Louise, Yorkshire (August 2017)

A very enjoyable stay, our third in the cottage. Mixed week weather wise but still a wonderful island whatever the weather. We went on the Sealife Surveys 6-hour whale watch which was wonderful in almost perfect conditions. We saw a number of minke whales, harbour porpoise, jelly fish of many kinds and sea birds galore. Not to be missed. Not so many eagles this time but saw a white tailed eagle family near Tobermory. We have spent our last day walking to the “Fossil Tree” at Burg. A difficult and challenging walk but certainly worth the effort – give yourself plenty of time, it takes longer than you think (8k). Cottage as ever gave us everything that we required – it is in the perfect position to see the island.

Colin & Lynette, Worcestershire (July 2017)

Another wonderful week on Mull. Not the best weather I’ve ever had here (thunder and lightning !) but not the worst either. Loads of wildlife as usual – black swan at Gorten; chaffinches on my wing mirrors, great northern diver, fallow deer – all at Loch Buie; a mink at Duart Castle (he just popped out of the undergrowth and trotted down the path in front of me!); and a white tailed eagle on the skerries off Craignure golf course. And that was just day one! I’ve also seen red deer, goldies, 130+ seals (Ross of Mull), otters and a hedgehog! If you like sea birds, you must go to the Treshnish Isles – thousands of guillemots, razorbills, puffins, etc. We even heard corncrakes! Please dress sensibly – on my trip lots of people only wore trainers and didn’t have proper waterproofs. The path can be very muddy – take a walking pole if you have one. I had a lovely late evening walk at Croig – follow the path beyond the B&B and you get a great sunset over Coll, with fantastic views to Eigg, Muck, Rhum and Skye. Comfortable cottage – thanks.

Lynsey, Edinburgh (June 2017)

First visit to Mull. Well appointed base to use to explore (missed wi-fi though!). Weather pretty awful but managed a dry trip to Staffa and dryish to Iona. Liked Calgary Bay especially.

Chris & Lucy, Gloucestershire (June 2017)

Our first visit to Mull. The weather was fair, some fine days with good visibility to look for wildlife, other days wet. Our best days were the trip to Iona - lovely drive down to Fionnphort, dramatic scenery and wonderful views. Iona was a surprise, much more there than the abbey. We also heard two corncrakes calling – a rare sound now. Not to be missed – the day we spent with Jacqui of Enjoy Mull. She gave us a superb day – during which we saw the while tailed eagle about four times – it’s massive! We also saw hen harriers, short eared owl, buzzards and sea otters – this trip is a must for new visitors.

Liz & Michael, North Dorset (June 2017)

Another two fantastic weeks. The weather was stunning. The cottage was, as usual, great – we sat and sunned in the back garden watching all the small birds. No eagles or harriers over the hill, just a buzzard and the red deer most days. Good sighting of a mother otter with two youngsters on Loch Beg and, eventually, a corncrake on Iona. Plenty of sightings of eagles and hen harriers in the usual places around the island.

Lou & Jan, Birmingham (May 2017)

Had a lovely week on Mull. Saw sea eagle and golden eagle – so pleased with that! Cottage was lovely – a perfect base for exploring Mull, and seeing red deer stag and hinds on hill opposite was a bonus. We’ll be back!

Katherine & Michael from Norfolk (October 2016)

A great central location for exploring the isle. Seen white tailed eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers, and seals. Only the otters evaded us. Cottage great – will need an extra week to read all the helpful literature provided. A relaxing week without mobile phone signal and no computer.

Norman & Sue from Dorset (September 2016)

Our second visit and it has been yet another fabulous week. Wherever we ate the food was lush and to top it all a very comfy and brilliantly situated cottage with everything you need for a perfect week on Mull. Will be really sad to leave and go back to reality. Still loads of things on the wish list, so hopefully we will come back again in the near future. It’s very hard not to fall in love with the Isle of Mull.

Paul & Sara from Bournemouth (September 2016)

A lovely week on Mull, despite the constant rain! The cottage has everything we could have needed. Thank you.

Jan & Ken from Norfolk (August 2016)

After visiting Mull for two days last year we knew straight away that we needed to return for longer. Craigmore provided a lovely base to explore the island and had everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our second visit to this beautiful island. The cottage is perfect, location couldn’t be better and we will definitely be returning again. Love the island!

A place for poets and painters, for geologists and photographers – that’s the Isle of Mull. But even if you aren’t any of those, even if you aren’t specialized in bird watching, Mull is a magnificent island for people who love unspoilt nature. We enjoyed the ever-varying landscapes, the rugged mountains and beautiful glens, the sparkling lakes and glittering waterfalls, the blue and yellow of wild flowers on cliffs and in meadows. We saw seals on the beach, red and other deer emerging from the woods, and two magnificent eagles circling in the blue sky. We explored the Treshnish Isles with its colonies of lovely puffins and other seabirds, and we admired (speechless!) spectacular Staffa. And every evening we returned – happy and satisfied – to Craigmore Cottage, “our” very comfortable and cosy home-for-a-week. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Eldrett, for all the useful information you left here – thank you for making us tourists feel so welcome here!

Herman & Magda from Belgium (May 2016)

Lovely cottage in an excellent location. Our first visit to Mull but certainly not our last. During our week’s stay we were lucky to see White Tailed Eagles over Loch Na Keal, Golden Eagles near Ben More area, otters playing in the loch at Garmony. We enjoyed a fantastic day with Turus Mara visiting Staffa and Treshnish Isles, where we saw many grey seals with pups. So lucky with the weather. Looking forward to returning to Mull when we hope to spend more time walking and seeing Mull’s wonderful coastline.

Colin & Lynette from Worcestershire (September 2015)

Had a lovely week at Craigmore Cottage. It’s 18 years since our last visit to Mull ….. We have managed to get more walking in this time! Mixed weather but that adds to the holiday. Seen buzzards, hawks, golden and sea eagles and a cute family of deer near Loch Ba. The most breathtaking scenery on our visit to Carsaig ………. Loch Ba near here is an easy place to get to for a tranquil walk…… Hope to be back again.

Sue & Andrew from Sunderland ( August 2015))

Yet another week in paradise….. This is our second year in the cottage and seventh visit to Mull…… Another very enjoyable week!

Frances & Howard from Cleveland ( August 2015)

Wow! What a great place to stay. The cottage was perfect with everything you needed and more, and in the ideal location for exploring the whole island. The island and wildlife were amazing– what a fantastic week we have had. We have seen otters, seals, basking sharks, white tailed eagles (both parents and two fledglings), jelly fish in the harbour, deer – the list goes on. We were so lucky. Not sure about the single lane roads so close to the cliff edge but this was made up for by the amazing views that we had This is one adventure we will remember forever. Thank you, Marian and Peter.

Paul & Sara from Bournemouth ( August 2015)

A most enjoyable stay in a well-equipped cottage……

Jean & Melville from Edinburgh ( August 2015)

…Thanks for another great week. Weather kind, did many walks. The eagles still hide from us, but may have seen one on Ulva…..

Dave & Chris from Dorset (July 2015)

….. This is our third visit and won’t be the last. It’s hard to leave Mull every time. The cottage is perfectly situated for everything you could wish to experience.

Terri & Stewart from London (June 2015)

Once again we’ve had a great time with Golden and Sea Eagles and Buzzards over the hill – occasionally being chased by the male and female Hen Harriers – and the red deer who were there most days. The cottage was lovely and warm on the colder nights……

Lou & Janet from Birmingham (May 2015)

Very comfortable cottage in a perfect location for exploring Mull ……. We were lucky with the weather –5½ bright and sunny days out of 7. Temperature soared to 15⁰C today. This is our second visit to Mull and we still have lots more to see and do. Would love to return next year. So pleased we chose Craigmore Cottage – Marian and Peter, thank you.

Sheila & Steve from Essex (April 2015)

We have had a glorious week with only 1 wet day! Toured the island end to end and had some lovely walks. Very comfortable cottage, thoughtfully equipped. Many thanks.

Mike & Gill from Sheffield (April 2014)

Lovely cottage – well equipped – superb position. Weather not good – but this is Mull. Golden eagle, sea eagle, hen harrier over house. Would recommend highly. Thanks for letting us stay.

Jane & John from Nottingham (May 2014)

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage well placed to access all parts of Mull. Weather perfect for the whole week. Several sightings of golden and white tailed eagles plus one memorable otter sighting. Probably best self catering cottage we have ever rented over many years.

Tony & Lea from Northants. (June 2014)

The cottage has been an excellent base for our week exploring Mull and around. So much to enjoy from the majesty of Staffa to the homemade cake at the honesty shop in Lochbuie. Thank you.

Lin & Don from Warwickshire (June 2014)

This cottage is a great location as 10 minutes away are sea eagles' and golden eagles' nests and right across the road we saw deer, barn owls and a sea eagle flew over, but the best of all was female and MALE hen harriers – in 25 years of bird watching I have never seen a male hen harrier – it was the holy grail of the trip – he caught a rabbit in front of me – awesome !

Di & Chris from Liverpool (July 2014)

Beautiful cottage, very well appointed. Red deer, eagles most days and a male hen harrier who flew straight towards us and up over the cottage. This must be the most well situated cottage on the island. Weather was good but didn’t have time to climb Ben More. Plenty of wildlife. A lovely place.

Lou & Jan from Birmingham (September 2014)

Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely cottage, perfect location for exploring the island. Love the cute rabbits in the garden, even though they kept stealing the bird food! Our wildlife tip – if you see lots of people with cameras and binoculars in a car park, say “hi” and most people are lovely and friendly and more than happy to tell you what they have spotted and where else to look. A very memorable first visit to Mull. Can't wait to come back !

Richard & Laura from Northumberland (September 2014)

Cottage ideally situated for exploring the central and north of the island. From the cottage we have seen male and female hen harrier, golden eagles and red deer. Red deer rutting has begun and bellowing stags can be heard throughout the night.

Louise & Martin from Southport (September 2014)

Cottage ideally suited to our needs. Can't believe what wonderful weather we have had. Mull looking at its absolute best. Thank you for accommodating us at such short notice.

We are having a great time at your cottage, thank you, it is really lovely. We had only just got the car in the gate on Saturday when 3 White tailed eagles appeared, they were then mobbed by 2 Hen harriers, what a result!

Doreen from Ipswich (May 2013)

A wonderful week. Lots of wildlife - sea eagles to puffins. So much to see and so little time to see it. Weather could not have been better. Basically we don't want to go home - we shall be back.

Stewart & Terri from London (June 2013)

Excellent week on Mull (our 10th visit). First time in this lovely cottage with good views of hen harriers across the road. Weather has been mixed and cold. Only 2 otter sightings this year but many good views of white tails and goldies. ..... Went on sea eagle boat trip - fantastic! Pair of sea eagles came down for fish, another pair in the sky, also pair of goldies seen plus wild goats, seals and pups, and brilliant dolphin display with double spinning breaches! Mull has delivered yet again - we will be back.

Steve & Jane from Sheffield (June 2013)

Our first visit to Mull. The cottage and its location is perfect..... We hope the island never changes and we hope to return.

Mike & Linda from East Sussex (July 2013)

Enjoyed a wonderful week on Mull in this ideally located and well equipped cottage. First came to Mull in 1999 - this time we noticed the increase in sea eagle numbers and also otters..... Still more to explore on Mull - a return visit is a must.

George & Lesley from Cumbria (July 2013)

We've enjoyed the varied flora as much as the fauna on our many walks in both sun and rain .... Of an evening we appreciated the DVD's with a Mull flavour, both wildlife and drama - thank you for this extra thoughtfulness in provision. A lovely week.

Harry & Rosalind from Fife (August 2013)

Our third visit to Craigmore Cottage and once again this wonderful island has exceeded all our expectations. Once again we have had a beautiful week weather wise - only half a day’s rain - and the evenings have been spectacular. Never before have we had such clarity in the light ... Thank you for letting us share your lovely home - we'll be back as soon as possible.

Karen and Andy from Scunthorpe (August 2012)

This has been our second visit to Craigmore Cottage, our first last year, and we have not been disappointed. ... I would recommend the cottage to anyone as the central location makes it great for exploring the island. We have seen golden eagles over the cottage and hen harriers, kestrel and buzzards working the hill opposite. Thank you for making our holiday that bit special.

Trevor and Linda from Shropshire (August 2012)

Good accommodation in a good location. Very central so makes visiting either end of Mull that bit easier. Blessed with sunshine every day, despite a few showers here and there. The wildlife came out to play and we were delighted to have several views of sea eagles and goldies plus four separate otter sightings .... Saw deer, hen harrier and tawny owl at front of cottage – and woodpecker in the back garden. Lovely cottage - wish we were here for longer.

Brian and Jane from Preston (July 2012)

We have enjoyed our first stay on Mull. The cottage is very comfortable and well positioned to visit other places on the island.

Ken and Linda from Staffordshire (June 2012)

What a lovely clean and cosy cottage, well positioned to see all of the wildlife and to enjoy all of the island.

Ross and Tina from North Wales (June 2012)

Our thanks for providing such a cosy and convenient base from which to enjoy the island and for all the guide books and leaflets which we really should have read at the start of our fortnight! We have been coming to Mull since the 1970's but we still keep finding new places to explore and fresh footpaths to follow. In particular we have taken to going out in the evening just before sunset when the colours are softer and the shadows reveal all the contours of the mountainsides

Brian and Mary from Bath (May 2012)

A wonderful cottage in a really good location. Well equipped and warms up quickly on the coolest of April days. Second visit to Mull and as delighted as ever with the scenery, weather and wildlife. Saw too much wildlife to mention it all, but included sightings of otters, fantastic views of golden and white tailed eagles, marsh harrier, short eared owls, and red deer daily from the cottage

Sean and Dawn from Hampshire (April 2012)

We have had a stunning week. The cottage was exactly what we wanted and so well placed for all four points of the compass. It is beautifully kept and equipped and comfortable. Many thanks.

Clare & Louise, Winchester (July 2011)

Well what can we say? The cottage is wonderful, having everything that is required and situated in a perfect location for exploring the island. It was our first time on Mull and we were not disappointed. The weather has been gorgeous, wildlife has been abundant with sightings of sea eagles and one over the cottage. We intend to come back to the cottage.

Trevor & Linda from Shropshire (July 2011)

The cottage was very comfortable, well-equipped, ideally situated to explore the island and incredibly clean - it puts my own house to shame! A great holiday to remember along with some super photos. Many thanks.

Joan & Ian from Bridlington (August 2011)

Just to say thank-you for everything provided to enable us to have such a lovely holiday. We were blessed! Endless sunshine, clear visibility, lochs like glass, beautiful sunsets....the wildlife came to us! We saw sea-eagles, otters, seals, deer, dolphins etc etc. We were so sad to leave this magical place.

Karen & Andy from Scunthorpe (August 2011)

Had a wonderful week exploring the island in this comfortable and well-equipped cottage. We did see the sea eagles, golden eagles and one otter, but of particular surprise was a hen harrier over the hill opposite the cottage one morning. The mixed weather made for some wonderful photographic opportunities. Third time to Mull - fantastic as always.

David & Stephanie from Luton (September 2011)

Wonderful week. Excellent weather. Cottage well situated and very comfortable. Have seen eagles, otters and mountain goats. Would like to come again.

Our second visit to this lovely cottage and our fourth visit to the island, but still finding new things to do. Saw eagles, otters and hen harriers - an owl visited the cottage at night. A great time as usual !
